This is the T-Deck Plus the way we like it best.

The T-Deck Plus Whitehat Edition pairs LILYGO’s handheld LoRa platform with the original English BlackBerry-style physical keyboard, a design lineage known for its tactile snap, clarity, and thumb-optimized ergonomics. While newer T-Deck versions use LILYGO’s in-house keyboard (which works just fine), this is the one we personally prefer and recommend.

If you care about typing feel, accuracy, and real messaging workflows, this keyboard stands apart.

Built around an ESP32 and a Semtech SX1262 LoRa radio, the T-Deck Plus is well suited for Meshtastic, off-grid communications, field experimentation, and privacy-respecting peer-to-peer messaging. The SX1262 is known for excellent sensitivity, efficiency, and reliability, making it a solid choice for real-world mesh deployments.

The physical keyboard makes a meaningful difference over touch-only or button-driven nodes, especially in cold weather, low light, or situations where accuracy and speed actually matter.

Why this edition stands out

  • English BlackBerry-style keyboard with excellent tactile feedback
  • Faster, more accurate thumb typing for real messaging use
  • Semtech SX1262 LoRa radio with strong sensitivity and low power consumption
  • From a finite hardware supply no longer manufactured in this configuration
  • Favored by power users, hackers, and field operators
  • Curated, tested, and endorsed by Whitehat Hardware

External antenna option

This T-Deck Plus is available with an included Gizont external whip antenna, a meaningful performance upgrade over internal antennas. The external antenna provides noticeably improved reception, stronger link stability, and better performance in dense or challenging RF environments.

We also offer a configuration without the external antenna for users who prefer a cleaner, more pocket-friendly profile:

  • With external Gizont whip antenna — best reception and range
  • Without external antenna — compact and unobtrusive

Choose the configuration that fits how you plan to use the device.

The large display, tactile navigation control, and open firmware ecosystem make the T-Deck Plus a favorite among serious mesh users. Whether you’re carrying it daily, deploying it as a mobile node, or using it as a field terminal, the keyboard-forward design materially improves how you interact with the network.

Whitehat Hardware curates this edition specifically because it represents a peak moment in small-form-factor input design — when industrial keyboard engineering met open hardware experimentation.

Once these are gone, they’re gone.
